Happy New Year! As we greet a new year and new decade I am overcome with excitement. The new year always makes me anxious about possibility, opportunity, a fresh start! I used to feel this excitement the day before a school year and during the first few weeks school started. Now that I am no longer a student, I feel the freh-start-excitement at the start of the annual year.
Much like any new year, I am so excited for what’s in store!
I have a lot on my agenda. The Black Girl Health Foundation is hosting a 6 Week Mental Health Campaign. The Kick-Off Reception will be held on January 10th at the Madelin-Olewine Library. Then the next 5 Saturdays of the year we will be hosting a workshop at one of the Dauphin County Library Systems’ libraries.
Registration is limited and available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please only register if you’re available to attend.
The other events in the campaign include a panelist of Moms: Moms Suffering in Silence, on January 18th. The panelists will be discussing stressors that moms face; as well as providing solutions and community resources.
TheYoga Retreat will be held on January 25th. We will be hosting two yoga practitioners who will instruct for about 45mins -an hour. Come ready to sweat and stretch and grow.
I’m A Survivor on February 1st is a celebration of Domestic Violence Survivors. Brenda Alton will be our speaker and she will be providing resources and solutions for Survivors. There will be community organizations on hand to offer free resources to guests.
The Young Minds Matter workshop on February 8th is geared to young ladies. We will have a young author coming to speak about stressors the young women struggle with, self-esteem and doing a reading from one of her books.
The final weekend we have a doubleheader: Free Your Mind and the Weight Will Follow & Beating Depression Naturally on February 15th.
My job as Collage Amabassor Program Manager for the Black Girl Health Foundation will keep me plenty busy. That won’t stop the show! I have a few posts in the pipeline waiting for you all. Including Tax Tips for Damsels, Yoga for Serenity and Habits To Leave in 2019!

What are you most excited about in the new year?
Be bold. Live out loud & as always remember,
Speaking of opportunity. Do you want to help planning and developing a project? Do you need a copywriter or editor? Do you want someone to cover your event? Do you need a press release written? Or even the copy (words) for a website written? I am your gal!
I love to share new voices!
