Chao Damsels!
Have you decided to be successful this year? Like many others celebrating the start of the new year, I am sure you’re excited to rededicate yourself to your goals. But aside from declaring your goals, have you taken time to discover what it will take for you to get reach your dreams? On the road to success there are many obstacles but often times the biggest obstacle is our inability to prepare.
Prepare For Success
Take out a blank sheet of paper, or turn to a new page in your journal. At the top of the page write down your goal. Next, take a few moments to prepare for your dreams. WRITE out a strategy to success by answering the simple question: How? After each answer break down each of your statements until you can no longer answer the question: HOW.
case study: lose 25 lbs.
For example, if your goal is to lose 25 lbs. The first & most obvious answer to your “How will I lose 25 lbs” will be: eat right and exercise. The next two questions could be: How will you eat right? How will you exercise? Answers: I will eat at home instead of eating out? I will do light cardio and light weight lifting to lose weight. Qs: How will you prepare your meals? How often will you eat? How often will you exercise? How will you run? How many squats, pushups, planks and bicep curls will you do? How often will you weigh yourself? How…? How…? How…?
Write Your Success Strategy
Now go back and look at all of your answers. Do you see your strategy yet? Your Success Strategy Will Tell You Exactly How You Will Get From Here To Success. But It won’t work if you don’t! You may need to get a clean sheet of paper to organize your thoughts and strategy.
Now go out and create your own happily-ever-after. Create the life you’ve always imagined living by using your success strategy.
Be bold. Live out loud & as always remember,
Distress
Great post Kar. So many people fail when it comes to their resolutions because they only come up with a goal, but no means to make it happen. There’s this great free app called Productivity wizard, that not only asks about your goals, but forces you to think about your action plans, progress, and why those goals are important to you.
And with that, I will say one of my goals for 2015 is to master my standing split. My strategy is to stretch 4 days a week to increase flexibility.
